2015 Final George Thompson v Thomas Kollberg This was a good final both players were weary after a busy golfing week which was taking its toll and George struggled early on losing the first three holes. He hit back taking the sixth and seventh but Thomas regained his composure to take the eighth to reach the turn 2up. Not bad for someone who in his last four attempts has never got past Saturday lunchtime! Thomas then took the eleventh but missed a small putt on the next which would have put him four up, that seemed to spur George on who then took the next three holes to square it up, wow could it be? The next was halved and they went to seventeen where George had a shot but a scuffed tee shot left him in the heather and whilst he recovered well Thomas seized on the slip and made him pay with a birdie and back in front by one with one to play. Thomas found the green and George found the ditch but he then did a marvellous chip that just missed going in by an inch so the title went to Thomas who won by one hole.

George Thompson (2&1) v Jack Pallister A cracking match in which george held the lead from the sstart but Jack fought back on the back six only to come up short on the seventeenth.

Josh Brook v Thomas Kollberg (1up) Thomas was giving 15 shots so he had to work very hard in this match holes were being won and lost in regular intervals with Josh holding the lead at the halve way stage. Thomas dug deep and played some good golf to claw his way back and finally took the lead on seventeen and a halve on the last gave him the match dispelling the myth the high handicapper always wins!!!

	George Thompson (5&3) v John Ahern George always in control of this match and seemed determined to matck his home advantage count which he did.
	Jack Pallister (2up) v Rhys Harrison What a super match this was both played very well and Jack used his shots well. For Rhys it was bitter disappointment only being some 6 over gross to lose on the last. He was two up for most of the latter stages but Jack fought hard and by the last had turned it round and was now one up and when he found the green and Rhys was just off it was all over.
	Josh Brook (3&2) V Jenson Bull With little difference in shots but a huge difference in length Josh was always favourite and that proved the case as he won by 3 but all credit to Jenson who battled hard.
	Alex Johnston v Thomas Kollberg (5&4) after his battle in the morning Alex found it hard to get his mementum going and Thomas was playing well and wrapped it up 5&4.

	Jacob Tidswell V George Thompson (1up) With Jacob taking the number one seed slot after his fine gross 78 at Weymouth and George not wishing to go out at the first hurdle this year it proved to be a very tight and competitive match George ran out winner by one.
	John Ahern (3&2) v Connor Moore A fine match with John Knighton Heath over coming local lad Connor to go through.
	Gus Moxon v Jack Pallister (5&4) Young Gus played well but Jack was always in control winning 5&4.
	Oliver Coward v Rhys Harrison (20th) what a cracking match this proved to be Rhys seemed to be in control and on his way to victory when Ollie hit back and by the last they were all square. They halved the last and when Rhys drove the ditch on the first extra hole we thought Ollie was going to win but no! rhys then chipped in for par and they were on their way to the second tee sadly Oliver found a poor lie for his second behind the tree and then found the ditch at that was that Rhys taking it on the twentieth.
	Alex Elwick v Josh Brook (2&1) It was always an uphill task for Alex who was giving 16 shots to a hard and long hitting opponent. All credit to alex who clipped the tree on the seventeenth to go down only by two.
	James Bishop v Jenson Bull (3&1) A really good tussell between these two and it was just Jenson who got the better of local lad James in the end.
	Tom Bastow v Alex Johnston (19th) What a ding dong match this was Tom seemed in control but Alex stuck to it and dug deep to pull it back to level after seventeen they then halved the next and Alex won it on the first extra hole with a very steady par.
	Sam Trott v Thomas Kollberg (3&1) these two are seasoned campaigners in this competition and it was nip and tuck all the way, Thomas just made the putts when they counted towards the end to just take it from Sam.

Round Four

Sunday 22 March 2015 - Weymouth GC

We were in Weymouth for the final round of the Peter Alliss with places in the top sixteen still up for grabs in the race to make the matchplay phase at Ferndown. It was a chilly start to the day but once the sun burnt the cloud cover off it was a glorious sunny day if still a little cool. The sun certainly brought the best out of these youngsters with young Jacob Tidswell playing off 23 having a gross 78, 51 points yes 51!!! To take this round some 8 points clear of Gus Moxon on 343 points with James Bishop of Ferndown third on 41 points. Weymouth’s Oliver Coward came next on 40 with club team mate sam Trott next on 39 the same as Broadstone’s Rhys Harrison. So now we go into the matchplay phase and these will be held at Ferndown on the 11 & 12 April.

Round Three

Sunday 22 February 2015 - Wareham GC

We went to Wareham for the third round of this year’s Peter Alliss as the race to make it to Ferndown for the Matchplay hots up. The forecast was bleak and that proved the case as not to long after we had started the rain started and the wind blew strongly. There was no let up and given the gusting wind and continuous rain the decision was made to curtail the event to a nine hole score with all players being given eighteen points for the back nine. Given how the day deteriorated it was a wise decision. Some were disappointed to be brought in whilst others were more than grateful to be getting out of the cold. The race to Ferndown as can be seen is very well contested and will give all players a chance as we move to Weymouth next month for the final round.

Round Two

Sunday 16 November 2014 - Yeovil GC (Newton)

So onto the second round and with all the rain we have had it was good to see all was well and the event was to go ahead so much so that the sun shone for most of the day. Weymouth's Jack Pallister came out on top with a fine 46 points closely followed by IOP's Tom Bastow on 45 and in third place was John Ahern from Knighton Heath. It never ceases to amaze me how well some of these youngsters can play even when there is no run on the ball well done to them all. We now have a break and will resume at Wareham on the 22 February 2015. Our thanks go to Yeovil GC and staff for their kind hospitality and allowing us the use the course.

Round One

Sunday 05 October 2014 - Highcliffe Castle GC

At a very finely presented Highcliffe Castle Course the 2015 Peter Alliss Young Masters got under way. The sun shone for the day and this must have contributed to the fine scoring by the players and there were none better than Ferndown's Josh Brook who came home with a stunning 48 points seven ahead of Jenson Bull Parkstone and 8 ahead of Sam Trott Weymouth. All the boys played well and enjoyed the day along with the clubs hospitality so our sincere thanks go to the club for allowing us to use their course.
