Adult / Junior Foursomes Championship

Bulbury Woods Golf Club 30 July 2015

With the sun shining we arrived at Bulbury Woods for this year’s Adult / Junior Greensome Championship.  The course as ever was in great condition and would prove to be a stern test to all with the secret in keeping it on the fairways.

Last year’s winner Matthew and Stephen Sandy were back to defend the Trophy but found the going tough coming home with 31 points some three behind the early leaders Chris & Rhys Harrison from Broadstone on 34.  George Long back from the USA paired up with young Jenson Bull and had 35 points.  Home pairing of Nick &  Ben Holding were leaders for a short while with a fine 36 points which was equalled by William & John Ahern Knighton Heath along with Andy and Sam Trott previous winners who took third place on count back with mother and daughter Angie and Charlotte Brook taking second place also on 36 points.  The winning pair were Elliott Howell and Mike Sandy who had a great 38 points.  So the Bunny Cotton Trophy was returning to Sherborne and the Sandy household for another year (or 6months).

Sherborne Team consisting of Matthew  & Stephen Sandy, Ben & Adrian Dew along with Elliott Howell and Mike Sandy went one better than last year and made it a double also taking the team shield with a team total of 73 two better than the Weymouth team.

We thank Bulbury for hosting this event the course was excellent as was the catering afterwards which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
