Dorset v Somerset 11 August 2009 - Chedington Court GC
Result: Dorset 7½ Somerset 4½
Chedington Court a young up and coming club now starting to feature in the County fixture list. All players and officials were met with a warm welcome along with a Secretary and Steward who could not have been more helpful. The course is one not to be dismissed whilst the greens were on the slow side they are true and well kept. The fairways are narrow requiring serious thought as to club selection and ball placement. On the day the conditions were excellent – very warm and a light breeze...........

Dorset v Hampshire 16 April 2009 - Knighton Heath GC
Result: Dorset 8½ Hampshire 3½
Match report: On a slightly chilly morning we welcomed Hampshire with fond memories of the drubbing received in 2008 at Dunwood Manor. With a team of 9 from which we chose 8 to play we had a great start with a 3-1 win during the morning foursomes. In the ten holes played Harry Mann and James did not quite combine well enough to secure a clean sweep. Enough was seen of one Hampshire player to know we had a real task in the afternoon singles, but the result was an excellent start.
In the afternoon singles B-J, George and Harry gave us a brilliant start securing three wins, but by then we had seen enough to know we would be battling in the latter matches. So it proved with Jordan securing a halve and Nathan who fought back from being down early on to secure a good one up win sadly David Lown went down by two. Well done Harry Mann in securing the best winning margin in the match with his 6&5 win.
The highlight of the day was Ryan’s match against Jack Singh-Brar, a 12 year old 5 handicapper who started with three birdies and was soon four up. Ryan fought back well and was level by the time they walked off 17. Unfortunately his second to the eighteenth was long leaving him to have to hack it back onto the green, he just missed the putt which would have secured a very good halve.
