Captains Report: A very close match on a pretty parkland course near Reading. The morning foursomes were tied 2-2, the highlight being the eight birdies from the Cook/Leech combination. Barnes and Harvey also showed their experience with a good 4&3 win over the BB&O Captain and his partner. Dan Bishop, on debut, led us out in the singles. He played well but was just edged out on the last hole. Tom Leech, as usual, played all 18 holes but was good enough to gain ½ a point. Dave Cook birdied the Par 3 17th hole to secure a 2&1 win, and Robbie Mabb battled back from a dreadful start to win 2&1. Dean Barnes managed a last hole victory with a gritty par on the last. With Kevin Robinson losing 4&3, playing at number 4, it was down to our last two to try and salvage something from their games. Unfortunately both players were down after 13 and this proved too much. Ben Harvey went down 4&3 and Tom Peacock lost by 2&1. This was a good effort from the Team in our last friendly before taking on Hampshire on May 8th at Brokenhurst. Giles Legg
