Dorset County

Another very enjoyable day with our friends from Devon.  Bridport was in very nice condition.  The weather front that was supposed to clear by lunchtime actually cleared during the afternoon so we started in rain but it soon eased.  As always a close match with four games going to the 18^th.  David Barton and Anthony Eden suffered a birdie blitz from Phil Lyons and Malcolm Tester with four in five holes from the 5^th and two more later.  Nigel Stubbs and Kevin Holmes succumbed to two twos on the back nine by Richard Brown the long time Devon Captain.  Thus Devon gained revenge for our victory at Exeter last year.  The match was finished with an excellent and convivial meal, which included a delicious and very satisfying bread and butter pudding.
