Dorset County

A very close match was played at Parkstone on Sunday, Parkstone eventually winning in the last singles game of the afternoon. All four foursomes games went down the 18th hole in the morning, with Parkstone playing the hole the best to gain a 3-1 lead. Dorset had to call up a replacement for the injured Jon Welch for the afternoon singles. Luckily Kevin Garwood was on hand to deputise. Parkstone soon increased their lead to 4-1 when David Cook (Dorset Vice-Captain playing for Parkstone!) beat David Norton 2&1. Dorset replied with wins from Dean Barnes, Ben Harvey, Giles Legg and Sonny Wilkinson to gain the lead. Harry Shaw, playing for Parkstone, birdied the last to earn a very good half against Kevin Garwood. Parkstone rallied to win the last two singles, beating Dorset 6.5-5.5. Thanks to Parkstone for allowing us to play their well presented course and affording us their hospitality in the clubhouse.
