Dorset Seniors hosted Wiltshire Seniors in the friendly match for the Jock Lawrence Quaich at Yeovil GC on Wednesday 27th October after earlier dates for the match had been postponed due to the COVID situation.
It was a windy day with blustery showers but the course was in excellent condition for the time of year and Yeovil GC catered for us all admirably.
Dorset fielded a team with a number of fringe players as this fixture is usually used to introduce new players to the team and to give past players a chance to meet up with old friends.
It seems as if Dorset peaked in July this year at the SW Qualifiers and we were well beaten in this match by a strong Wiltshire side who won comprehensively .
Next year’s match will be at Kingsdown GC in September and we will need to field a stronger team then to match the team Wiltshire put out this year at Yeovil.
