Dorset Seniors travelled to our match v Sussex with a weakened and depleted side due to unavoidable late withdrawals and a number of players being away and so unavailable.
Practice on the day before the match was not helped by a very strong wind .
The results on match day were disappointing but Selwyn had an excellent result against an very strong Sussex player, this was the highlight of the match for us, as although some of the rest of the games were tight ,two going to the 18th green, we lost them all with the exception of one drawn game.
Sussex had a very strong team on the day with a number of plus and scratch handicaps and at full strength Dorset would have needed to play exceptionally well to have got a favourable result.
We now have a number of weeks to regroup and improve for our next match. Team spirit however remains very upbeat .
