Dorset County

Well the day started in bright fashion against the strong league favourites Devon. Three very close and exciting foursomes matches left the morning play all square at 1 ½ points each. Will Chesterman & Aiden Holloway did particularly well after being down early on.

Unfortunately, moving into the singles Devon proved their strength and surged ahead in most of the singles matches in the first half dozen holes. In the end it was only Aiden Holloway that could get anything out of his match earning a well scraped ½ point and finishing the day unbeaten.

It was a disappointing defeat in what’s been an up and down year, some good wins such as the under 13’s recently beating Surrey but some poor defeats also. The future does look bright though, 2 of our top 3 players still have 2 more years in the squad which is very exciting. I’m looking forward to next year already.
