A wonderful Whitsand Bay Golf Club hosted this year’s match between Dorset and Cornwall. The course was very much a links course and the wind certainly made things interesting. For many of the Dorset team this was a new experience for them and it took a practice round plus the morning foursomes to get a feel for it going 2-1 down at lunchtime.
The singles however was a different story; the boys played some of the best golf I’ve seen at this level. A number of the lads closed out their matches dropping only a few shots to par! It seemed like we hit all the fairways, hit most greens and holed all the important puts we needed to, much credit must go to Cornwall who also played some great golf.
Well done to the lads, a great performance and a fine win.
