We lost 5 - 1. Not our strongest side by a long way but full of enthusiastic golfers wanting to play well for their county. The course was in good condition and a stiff breeze made conditions tricky. Devon probably had the edge around the greens. I saw one chip-in and there were apparently others.
Highlight of the day was following the last match in. We were dormy three up so assured of avoiding a whitewash (!) but a good up and down from Pat Lynch on the 17th, closed out the match. Very pleased for Pat who stood in at two days' notice and also John Coley who wanted to play for the county and won on his debut.
