Dorset County

Camberley Heath is a very pleasant Surrey heathland course and at 6,426 yards off the back not too long. We teed off at 1.00 with thunderstorms starting to roll around so after two false starts the last match was finally underway at 3.15pm as the storms passed by and a pleasant afternoon followed. David Barton enjoyed his new position as County Champion and our new No. 1 with a good win against a very strong opponent. The top of the order performed well and we had won by the time Brian Medlam came in at No. 7. Colin Short brought up the rear and only a most unlikely 20 foot downhill breaking putt from his opponent, which went in like a rabbit down a hole, prevented him winning. All in all it was nice to get back to our winning ways. Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious dinner with our hosts.
