Dorset County

Playing Kent in Kent was always going to be a difficult match and so it turned out. Dorset lost the match by a 7-3 margin.  The team performance, however, was better than the score suggests. Playing against a team including three internationals, Dorset took  five of the matches to the last green.  John Smith had a fine level-par round to halve the top match against England International Richard Partridge. Mike Chapman had a two over par score but just missed out on the last green. Campbell Boal almost holed his three wood into the 18th green to secure his match one up. The Lyme Regis duo performed well. Rob Clapp halved his match and Mike Mudford achieved a 2/1 victory.
This was not our strongest team and we suffered three withdrawals in the week before the match due to ill-health. The team that we did field was enthusiastic and wanted to do well. Thanks are due to the people who agreed to play at very short notice.
