The match was played on a glorious day at Came. Thank you to Came Down for hosting the fixture and arranging the glorious weather; sunny with a light wind. Dorset were out to avenge the previous year's result at Littlehampton but the early signs were not good as Sussex took the lead in several matches. John Smith's opponent clearly had the gods on his side as he hit the pin from 150 yards on the 1st and then holed his second from a sand bunker on the 6th. After 9 holes, the overall match was lying 6.5 to 3.5 in favour of Sussex. Things then began to turn around. Campbell Boal holed from 15 feet on the last green to snatch the point and Mike Chapman holed from 6 feet to grab a half. Paul Cooper, Dave Barton and David Lock scored fine wins leaving Phil Addis as the last man on the course and needing to win to secure the match. He scored a solid par on the tricky 17th to win his match and secure the overall result. Well done Dorset.
