Dorset County

East Devon GC is the venue for this year’s SW Seniors Championship and when the event is held in Devon or Dorset it has been the practice to schedule our friendly at the championship venue.  This practice was continued this year giving both steams an extra look at the course prior to the competition.  The course was in very good condition if a little bouncy but considering the current hot dry spell it played very well.  There was little wind so no excuses for poor play.

The top two matches were putted off the course as their opponents just holed everything!  Our players were pleased with their ball striking and as 3 of the 4 are in our six they went back for another practice round the following week to fully prepare. The remaining four matches were solid wins for Dorset.  We were never behind in any of them, with all the groups coming in with tales of birdies and good team play always having one player contesting every hole.

A good match, good pre-tournament practice and excellent course topped off with a fine win.
