Dorset encountered a very strong Surrey team at Parkstone and the final result showed the difference in relative handicaps. The Surrey players hit fewer bad shots, holed more putts and were sharper around the greens. That is not to question the effort and commitment of the Dorset players who all gave 100% and kept fighting to the end. Four singles matches went to the last hole with only ½ point gained. If we can make a slight improvement in our play maybe we can win more of these close games, which in turn would make the matches more competitive.
Many thanks to Parkstone Golf Club for allowing us to play their beautifully prepared golf course.
