Phil Bill - 2020 Seniors Amateur Champion

The County Seniors Championship was due to get under way at Came down on Wednesday 21st October but with torrential rain the days golf had to be cancelled.  That reduced the Championship to just 18 holes and we got under way on the Thursday with the Sun shining brightly.  The course was in great condition and the greens were going to be a good test for all.
The competition was tight with Kevin Ballinger IOP holding the lead on 75 which was then matched and bettered on countback by Mark Stickley Came Down then Gary Earl Yeovil.  Broadstones Ashley Beckett came home in 74 to take the outright lead with a good old tussle out on the course between Tony Coles and Phil Bill.  Tony was holding onto the trophy until he hit his ball out over the wall on the par three fifteenth and ended up with a 6.  So we have a new name on the Trophy as Phil Bill came home with a fine 73 to take his first County Seniors Trophy.  Congratulations to Phil on being crowned the 2020 County Seniors Champion.

First Round scores

The battle for the Handicap Championship was a very tight affair with several players all on 72 but IOPs Kevin Ballenger took the spoils with his fine net 70 Congratulations to Kevin on becoming the 2020 Handicap Champion.
