Remember it will be the best 2 from the 3 rounds played assuming Crane gets completed.
Final
Oscar Thomas became the 2019 Peter Alliss Young Master at Ferndown today with a fine display of golf against Ferndown's Daniel Magill. Oscar giving 10 shots got off to a great start winning the first two holes. Danial managed to get his composure back making halves at the next two before Oscar took the fifth to go three up. Daniel clawed one back taking the eighth but Oscar struck straight back taking the ninth to reach the turn 3 up. Daniel took the next then Oscar won the eleventh. Daniel then used his shots well taking the next two holes to bring it back to just one down but great credit to Oscar who then pulled it around and with some help from his opponent won the next three holes and the match 4&2. Overall a great win for Oscar and with both players young enough to play next year we hope we will see more of them in the future.
Semi-Finals
Oscar Thomas won by 1 hole in a very well contested match. Freddie came down seventeen one up but pulled his shot to the green into the bushes allowing Oscar a glimmer of hope which he duly took to square the match. He then found "the club" playing a stunner to around 3 foot on the last to birdie the hole and take the match.
A match of two halves with Toby looking in control for the front nine but allowing his emotions to get the better of him on the back nine and with Daniel upping his game he turned it around and wrapped it up 3&2 on the sixteenth.
Quarter Finals
Oscar giving 12 shots had to work hard to take control but that he did and came out on top 3&2
A very tight match through nine but then Freddie made his shots count and won 3&2
This was the match of the morning with little to choose between the pair it really was a tight affair and when it ended all square on the last hole it was into overtime. How bazaar that andys tee shot should stay hanging in between two strands of gorse. He managed to pop the ball out but with Toby finding the green in two it was him that came out winner but one had to feel sorry for Andy. As they say "thats golf"
Daniel always seemed to be in control of an evenly balanced match and ran out winner by 3&1
