Category I & II Championship

Yeovil GC 05 September 2018

The Category I & II Championships were played at Yeovil GC on a fine sunny day, the course was looking good and would prove a great test for our club Category Champions. 

The turnout was fair for the Category I with thirteen clubs taking part.  Scoring was good with Mike Spearing Came Down & Gary Weldon Ashley Wood coming home one over.  They were bettered by Gary Perkins Crane Valley with a level 71.  Kevin Ballinger took over the top spot with a under total of 70.  Home advantage came to the fore as the Category I Champion came from Yeovil as Simon Coates had a great gross round of level for a fine winning total of 67.

Third: Gary Perkins Crane Valley GC  71

The Category II Championship was well contested again scoring was good in the main with the home player elliot Maggs coming home  with a1 under total of 70.  Broadstones Simon Percy held the lead with a very good net 69 which was equalled by Ashley Woods Steve Hawkins.   Sadly for steve he lost out on the Championship on countback.  So congratulations to Simon Percy who became the Category II Champion.
