The 2018 Junior Knockout competition came to a conclusion on a glourious day at Bridport & WD GC on Friday 31 August with Yeovil playing Parkstone in the first semi-final and Weymouth against Sturminster Marshall.
Yeovil won convincingly by 5 games to one with Sacha Trickett winning the last match for Parkstones point. There was some close matches which went all the way to the last.
Weymouth with only five players managed to win three of their games to force a playoff which sam Trott one at the first attempt with a great birdie two on the eighteenth to take the team through to the final against Yeovil.
The final got under way and it was always going to be a real battle for both sides with Yeovil starting one up over the Weymouth team with only 5 players. Credit to them as they managed to win 3 of the 5 games to take it in to a sudden death playoff. Alex Elwick fiounf the green off the tee and Sam Trott pulled his left Yeovil had the early advantage. A great chip by Sam and a rushed putt by Alex saw the tables turned and when Alex missed his putt back Sam stepped up to the mark and holed his to give Weymouth the 2018 Junior Knockout Championship.
