Adult / Junior Greensomes ChampionshipJack Kerslake & Ian Dufall

Weymouth Golf Club 01 August 2017

With the sun shining but the wind blowing we arrived at Weymouth Golf Club for this year’s Adult / Junior Greensome Championship.  The course as ever was in great condition and would prove to be a stern test for all.

Geoff Cotton was once more here to try and win the Bunny Cotton Trophy he donated to remember his brother, and with last year’s winners not back this year a new pair will be lifting the trophy.  Sadly for Geoff and his young partner Joseph Wickham it was not a great day and we will be seeing Geoff next year as he makes another try for the trophy.  Father Richard with his son Jordan played very well to come home with a fine 39 points and the clubhouse lead.  Young Zac Mudford with his dad Steven had 34 points and were soon pushed down the leader board as John Fear & Adam Harris along with Angie & Charlotte Brooks and Andy Robson and Morgan Taylor all having 35 points.  Our President john White partnered Mannie Wellman and came home with 37 points one off third place which was held by Adrian and Ben Dew but the day belonged to the current Peter Alliss Champion Jack Kerslake Weymouth who partnered by Ian Dufall from Came Down had 40 points and were duly crowned 2017 Adult /Junior Champions taking the Bunny Cotton Trophy.

Sherborne were back to try and take back the team shield which was snatched from them last year by Parkstone.  They did manage to win it by 5 points from Parkstone who took both second and third spots.  The Sherborne Team consisting of Jack Crockett and Oliver Griffiths, Ben & Adrian Dew along with John Fear and Adam Harris.  Parkstone A was in second spot and it was an all family affair with David and Josh Brook along with Angie & Charlotte.
