Dorset team achieve third place
After day one, Dorset were trailing the leaders Devon by 10 shots. The best five scores count from each team of six and unfortunately we had two scores of 80 and 81.
First day scores against par
Devon +25 Wiltshire +30 Cornwall +30
Somerset +31 Gloucester +33 Dorset +35
In order to get off the bottom of the table after the second day, Dorset needed to post some good rounds in the seventies and have only one bad round which could be ignored. Happily this turned out to be the case. While some of the other counties couldn’t continue with their first day form and the CSS went from 71 to 73, the Dorset side improved their scores and achieved third place just behind the home county; Cornwall.
Devon were clear winners but could have increased their winning margin even more had they selected the individual winner as one of their team.
Final scores against par
Devon +55
Cornwall +62
Dorset +66
Somerset +74
Wiltshire +78
Gloucester +82
Tony Coles gets fourth place in the individual

Tony carded another 74 for a total of 148 but Richard added a 75 for a total of 146 and secured the title.
