The Category I & II Championships were played at Wareham GC on a fine sunny day, there was however a stiff breeze which would prove a good test for the players on a course looking a little greener after the recent rain. The course and greens were presented to the players in excellent condition.
The turnout for the Category I was again disappointing with two players not even showing! Still those that played found the going tough and holes 14 to 17 proved difficult for most on exception was local Phil Allen who shot level to post a net 67. The nearest to that was Weymouth’s Steve Robinson and Sherborne’s Adam Harris who both had 74. So once more the Trophy returns to Ware and Phil well done.

The Category II Championship was well contested but again the players found the course tough to score on Came Down’s Andrew King was in with a net 75 which was matched by Sturminster’s James Port. Rushmore’s Mark Pedder had a fine net 73 and that secured him second spot as Kevin Sheath from Bulbury Woods with a net 70 took the title and became this year’s Category II Champion.
