|Tom Plumb v Brad Cox:- So County Team mates were up for the final of this years Henderson and a thrilling encounter was anticipated. The first was halved and then Tom birdied the second to go one up, Brad won the next then Tom took the fourth hole and Brad the fifth so it was still level. They halved the next and Tom took the next when Brad conceded after a little trouble. They halved the next two holes and therefore Tom made the turn 1 up. Tom birdied the tenth to go up by two, they halved the next and then Tom took full control wining the next with par and then he eagled the next to make it four up. Brad dug deep taking the next two holes to keep his hopes alive and he then had a putt to take the next but it sadly slipped by and the match was Tom’s 2&1. Credit to both players who played some excellent golf which was appreciated by all those spectating. Tom has the Double both the Durban Salver and Henderson.
Tom Plumb v Adam Harris:- So both Tom and Adam are team mates and both from Sherborne so they know each other’s game very well, it was an unusual start as Tom pushed his tee shot of the first into the driving range and then on the third hole topped it into the water off the tee. That said Tom regained his composure and on the second nine took control with some fine golf winning by 4&3
Brad Cox v Callum Ward:- This match was evenly balanced with County team mates Brad and Callum matching each other shot for shot for most of the match. Brad finally edged it 2&1 to set up a final place against Tom Plumb.
|Tom Plumb v Dominic Dunstan:- Tom continued his morning form and was never in any trouble in this match and ran out winner by 6&5
|Thomas Kollberg v Adam Harris:- Both players played well but Adam had control and won by 4&3
|Brad Cox v Morgan Taylor:- With Brad having the morning off he was more refreshed but it proved to be a real battle as the ever improving Morgan Taylor held his own for most of the match and Brad stepped up in the later part to take the match 2&1
|Callum Ward v Sam Russell:- The last match was a tight affair but Callum always seemed to be in control and that proved to be the case as he won 3&2
The Henderson Match Play finally got under way a day late and our sincere thanks to all at Dudsbury for getting the course sorted and allowing us to play the finals. The Durban Salver winner Tom Plumb led the way against Joe Turner, Tom played very well and had a comfortable win 6&5. Mark Rankin and Dominic Dunstan had a real battle that went all the way with Dominic taking it on the last by one. Tom Kollberg beat Lewis Gilligan and Adam Harris had a comfortable win over last year’s finalist Kalin Woodland. Brad Cox had the morning off as Oscar failed to show the next match saw Parkstone’s Junior Captain Steffen Foley against his Vice Morgan Taylor, Morgan took this match which certainly had it’s moments!! Callum Ward beat Ben Olding and Sam Russell overcame Billy Hathway.
The round was cancelled due to storm “Katie”
We were at Crane Valley for the next round of the Henderson all player’s had been advised that the day’s competition was a Non-qualifier due to the very wet conditions. This did not stop young Kalin Woodland who had a very good round of level par to take top spot, a much needed score as he tries to secure his presence in the Matchplay phase. Brad Cox was second with a 74 followed by Callum Ward on 75.

So we moved to Weymouth for the second round of this year’s competition, the course was in great condition but the weather conditions were horrid. It turned into a Reductions only competition, but I congratulate all the players on getting round.
