Adult / Junior Foursomes Championship

Dorset Golf & Country Club 31 August 2016

With the sun shining we arrived at The Dorset Golf & Country Club for this year’s Adult / Junior Greensome Championship.  The course as ever was in great condition and would prove to be a stern test to all even off the yellow tees.

Last year’s winners were not back this year so a new name will go on to the Bunny Cotton Trophy and as usual Geoff Cotton was back to try and make it his.  He had a Weymouth young Gun Joseph Wickham.  Geoff must have felt it was maybe his year as he reached the turn with 21 points but sadly it wasn’t to be as they ran out of steam finishing with 37.    The scoring proved to be good throughout the field with 5 pairs on 40 points.  Nigel and Sam Brooke came home with 41 points but as they always say local knowledge is worth a point or two and it proved to be correct with DG&CC pairing of Callum Ward and Mike Wilcox coming in with a fine 42 to take the Bunny Cotton Trophy and become the 2016 Adult /Junior Champions.

Sherborne were back to try and keep hold of the team shield with the team consisting of Jack Crockett and Lewis Coward, Ben & Adrian Dew along with John McGovern and Jack Coward and the team score was 79 points.  It was Parkstone who with 80 points who lifted the Shield, the team consisting of Morgan Taylor and Adan Yates, Tom Peacock and Tomas Seville and Jenson Bull and Rosemary Emby.

We thank DG&CC for hosting this event the course was excellent as was the catering afterwards which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
