We were at Highcliffefor this year’s Inter-Club Mixed Foursomes and although the weather was overcast it did not rain which was a blessing. The nine hole course was very well presented and proved to be a very good test for all those taking part.
The scratch trophy was contested by only nine clubs and the winners were the early starters from Ashley Wood Sue Edwards and Dominic Dunstan they were guided round by the Canford school pair of Merry Wilson and Steve Rattue. Sue and Dominic had a super 1 under front nine and keep it steady on the back nine for a fine two over total of 70. They were chased hard by Broadstone’s Louise Sims and Ashley Beckett who came home in 73 to take the runners up slot. The rest of the field found it tough than it looks. In the two’s sweep there was only on two in the scratch competition and that was by Sue Ellis and Stewart Purdie from Dudsbury so a very good afternoon for that pair.
So congratulations to Sue and Dominic on becoming the 2015 Inter-Club Mixed Champions.

The Handicap section was well supported with 15 clubs represented and it proved once more that the course won with scoring proving difficult. Early leaders were Sarah & Graham Smibert from Yeovil on 32 points tied with Susan Hoare & Paul Gough Highcliffe Castle, Paul and Susan were very happy with two two’s on their card! Local pairing Ann Peatey and David Tremain went to the top with 35 points which proved to be the best score of the day with the Parkstone pairing of Barbara Sims and Bob Nichol coming up one point short on 34 and rueing the blob on seventeen. There were a total of 5 twos in this section which meant Paul and Susan had to share with Linda Holden and Andy Watkins, Barbara Sims and Bob Nichol along with Dilys & John Grant
Congratulations to Ann and David on becoming the 2015 Inter-Club Mixed Handicap Champions.
Congratulations to all who took part and we hope you enjoyed the day, and we along with the players also thank Canford School for allowing us the use of their course for the Championship.
