Yeovil GC 20 September 2015

Yeovil was in great condition and with the sun shining it was an ideal day for some fine golf. The scratch pairs got us under way with the Yeovil and Sherborne pairs leading off Matt and James came home in 76 some six shots worse than Josh and Tom who had a one under 70 which was proving hard to beat by those coming in.  George and Callum from DG&CC had 76 to match the Yeovil score but then came the Weymouth pairing of Tom robson and Billy Hathway who stood in for Tom’s brother andrew who is getting over hand surgery.  Well this pair certainly found the course to their liking coming home in a stunning 69 two under par thus taking the trophy and becoming the 2015 Inter-Club Foursomes Champions.

Congratulations to Tom and Billy on becoming the 2015 Inter-Club Foursome Champions.

Matthew Quigg & Gareth OwenIn the handicap event the players as always found the format tough but there was some good scoring.  Vince and James from Knighton Heath had a fine 68.5 just pipping the local pair Simon and James by two.  Ferndown’s Nathan and Adam held the lead for most of the afternoon with a fine net 68 but one of the last pairs out had other thoughts and that was Gareth and Matthew from Bulbury Woods making sure the Salvers returned to the club for a second year when they came home in a super net 63 and as they said at the presentation they just had a great day at the office when all went right for them so well done to them.
