We were at Bridport for this year’s Inter-Club Mixed Foursomes and although we had differing weather as the day went on all enjoyed the course and views from the top of the cliffs. The course proved to be a great test in what’s considered a difficult format but it is a pleasure to have the couples there who all enjoyed the day and the challenge.
The scratch trophy was well contested and the first pairs out came home with 79 each with Bridport’ s Di Loving & Steve Crabb just being pipped on count back by Melissa McMahon and David Lyon from Lyme Regis, the consolation for Di and Steve is they had two two’s! The scoring proved more difficult as the pairs came home Bob Pace and Sarah Baker from Ashley wood had 80, Matt Sandy and Kate Cornell Sherborne whilst only managing 83 were happy as they also took a share of the two’s pot, as did the Knighton pair of Debbie Knight and Leigh Stanger. The last pair from Parkstone Alice Davis and Billy-Joe Bugden also had a 79 so it was all down to count back and losing out to third place were the local pair Di & Steve with Melissa and David holding out by two shots on the back nine to take this year’s Championship from Alice & Billy.
So congratulations to Melissa and David on becoming the 2013 Mixed Champions.

Congratulations to all who took part and we hope you enjoyed the day, and we along with the players also thank Bridport for allowing us the use of their course for the Championship.
