The 2013 Seniors Championship was played at Highcliffe Castle GC who celebrate their Centenary this year. The competition was played over one day on a superbly presented course with fair weather. The course proved to be a great test for all those who took part. David Barton led the way and did not disappoint coming in with a fine level par 64. This was followed by a 65 from Seniors Captain David Lock. Defending champion Colin Short was three back on 67. So after a fine ploughman’s lunch the second round got under way, again David led the way coming home with a fine one over 65 coming home on the back nine in 31 having lost a ball in that some fine golf played. David Lock made the turn one over but let 3 more shots get away to come home in 68. Pat Crane Weymouth Paul Cooper Canford School, Nigel Green Came Down and Stephen Anstee Ferndown all had 70 and Colin short had 71 so the 2013 seniors Amateur Champion is David Barton Christchurch with David Lock taking the Handicap Championship.
