Category III & IV Championship
Bulbury Woods GC 14 September 2011
The Category III & IV Championships were played at Bulbury Woods and with no rain forecast it was a surprise (not) to arrive with it pouring down. It did turnout to be a lovely afternoon and for local Derick Abbot it was a very good day as a gross 76 net 63 gave him the Category 3 championship, all credit to Sherbornes Matt Bonson who had a very good 79 net 68 which on any other day might well have been good enough. The question was could Mark Sherwood make it a Bulbury double? Lee Johnson DG&CC was an early starter and set the pace with a net 73 which was evetually equalled by Knighton's Colin Samuel in the last group, he lost out on count back and Mark had to settle for third s o Lee Johnson took the Category 4 Championship.
