On a dry sunny day the 2011 Inter-club Cyril Nash Memorial Trophy competition got under way. Only 10 clubs from within the County entered teams a sad reduction from last year (lets hope we can some how get more clubs to enter next year.) with a total of 52 youngsters competing for the Memorial Trophy. There was some excellent play on a very well presented course. Once again scoring was good last years winner Steffen Foley with 30 points was not going to retain the trophy but it was still going to be hard for any one to prise it away from Wareham as local Liam Parker an early starter came home with 41 points a fine total to set. Parkstone’s Ben Small had 38 along with local lad Elliott Baczala. James Singleton Parkstone and Joel Sandford Broadstone both had 39 and young County under 14 George Carroll had 40 so the title was going to Wareham’s Liam Parker.
First Place: Liam Parker Wareham GC 41 points
Second Place: George Carroll DG&CC 40 points
Third Place: James Singleton Parkstone GC 39 points

The team event was well contested but the trophy was retained by Wareham for a second year with a great team total of 116 points six clear of Parkstone who only had 3 players so that is great credit to them for making 110 points between them to take second from Sturminster Marshall who with 106 points came third.
First Place: Wareham GC 116 points
Second Place: Parkstone 110points
Third Place: Sturminster Marshall 106 points

The Junior Committee wish to thank all those who took part and for there support to this event it is a great opportunity to allow club youngsters with a higher handicap to represent the club in a competitive competition and we hope more will support the event next year which will be held at Wareham GC on Friday 3 August 2012.
