Inter-Club Mixed Foursomes Parkstone GC 15 August 2010

After a bit of badgering the entry for this years event was at a similar level as last year with just 17 clubs out of our 32 being represented, all those who took part had a most enjoyable afternoon.

The scratch trophy was well contested with home pair David Cook and Carly Cummins along with Ben Churchill playing with a 3 times winner Kerry Ann Haskell both coming home in 73 David and Carly with the better back nine. Then in came Ashley Beckett and Kyra Horlock fro Broadstone with a very fine level par 72 to take the Trophy back to Broadstone, and the home pair having to settle for second place.

We thank Nick Fiddian Vice Captain Parkstone GC for presenting the prizes and making all welcome at Parkstone.

Handicap

The Handicap section was well supported with some 18 pairs taking part, there was some vast differences in the scoring but overall everyone enjoyed themselves. Doug Proctor & Susan Burke Knighton Heath were early club house leaders net 75.5 but this was short lived as Tim Harty and Pauline Martin Bmth & Meyrick Park came home in a net 73. Martin and Sylvia edge from canford School had a good net 74 but the best in was Richard and Christine Laws from Parkstone with a net 72.5 to become the 2010 handicap champions. It was also fortuitous that Christine is the current Ladies Captain of the club and presented the prizes along with making the players in this section very welcome to the club.
