Saturday 10th December.
During the 2016 Sherborne Golf Shop Christmas competition, Matt Sandy, a +1 county golfer from Sherborne Golf Club thought he had won the 9th hole with a spectacular hole in one, only for his glory to be taken just 2 shots later by opponent Alice Plumb, a 1 handicap county golfer also from Golf Club, who followed him straight into the hole.
What are the chances of 2 holes in one, on the same day, on the same hole in the same group!!!
Both were playing in the day sponsored by club professional Alistair Tresidder, who is also coach to both players, which attracted 108 golfers. The hole in one was the deciding factor that also brought first place on the day to Alice who was partnered by her brother Tom.
