We made the long trip to play our SE League match against Kent at Rochester & Cobham Park GC. On arrival it was clear the journey had been worth it, the venue was superb with excellent practice facilities, a modern welcoming clubhouse and a very testing course.
The match was played with a light wind and in the main dry conditions. Our early players did not get the results we were hoping for but the middle and tail performed well and in the end we lost a close match 6-4. Kent play all their home matches at the same venue so local knowledge won the day.
Congratulations to Mike Spearing and Mark Stickley Came Down who have come into the squad this year and have made a great start both getting good wins today. Well don John Busby who was a late replacement and carved out a good win, as did our ever reliable Tony Coles.
We now look forward to hosting Surrey at Remedy Oak on the 6th September prior to going to the National finals in October at St Helens.
