On a Blustery Day our Seniors finally got under way after the 2020 season was ruled out due to the continuing pandemic. We kicked off the new season by hosting Sussex at the Dorset Golf and Country Club.
Over the front nine Dorset were holding their own and perhaps were just edging it but slowly we started to fall behind.
Our lead man Gary earl had a great win against Steve Graham this was followed by both Tony Coles and Phil Bill both fighting hard for a half point.
Unfortunately the good start was not sustained as Sussex took hold of the match taking the next five matches, albeit with two of those going all the way with Dorset just being pipped at the last, with several of these battling through a cloud burst.
Paul Lucas came home with a fine point winning 4&3 and with the last match going to Sussex giving them a 7 – 3 Victory.
So onwards and up as we now look forward to visiting our neighbour’s Hampshire on the 19th June at at Lee on the Solent GC.
