Central Database of Handicaps

In order for the Central Database of Handicaps (CDH) to be at its most effective, the database needs to be current and fit for purpose. Sadly this is not always the case for one reason or another but there are things you can and should do about it.

England Golf has recently issued a guide to cleansing your CDH and this can be accessed here

One of the main causes of CDH inaccuracies is the transfer of players who either resign from a club, or move to another club, in some cases not even making their previous club aware. With proper communication a Player can move and retain a CDH number and full playing record. If there is no communication or exchange of information often the player is set up under a new number and his/her playing record is lost and the consequences can have an impact.

Whilst the CDH cleansing operation can be time consuming the longer it is ignored the less accurate the system will be. We would therefore encourage you to take the matter seriously and make a start.
