Dorset County

So to our last U16 match of 2017 against Devon at Crediton Downes Golf Club.

We knew with a good win we could lift the title but when we saw the strength of the Devon team we all knew its was going to be very hard work.

So we set the 4 foursomes of and with some scrappy golf on a tight course it was close until the turn and then the Devon team pushed ahead and we went in 4 down at lunch.

And so to the singles again on paper Devon where going to be hard to beat and so it proved taking the singles 5 ½ to 2 ½.

I would like to mention some great results, Tom Kollberg beating the current Devon County Champion 1 up, Josh Brook beating on paper a stronger player 3&1 and to Alex Elwick who again came from behind 2 down with 3 to play to get a half.

Overall I’m happy with this season with new players and look forward to next year.

Lastly like to say good bye to Tom Kollberg Alex Elwick and George Thompson they move up out of the age group thanks for all your hard work.
