Our match against Kent this year was at Bridport Golf Club. Practice day was warm and sunny with a gentle breeze but the wind increased and the temperature dropped significantly for the match on the following day.
Kent fielded a team with 2 as their highest handicap,Dorset had 7 out of their team of 10 with handicaps higher than 2 but we competed well .Mike Chapman and Vince Joyce had convincing wins and Paul Lucas came from 3 down with 3 to play to snatch a half. Although we lost 3 1/2 - 6 1/2 a number of matches went to the 18 th green and we were hopeful for a drawn match if some of these results had gone in our favour. The strength in depth of the other teams in our league is considerably better than Dorset has but we go to our final league match v Surrey at Burhill GC hoping for a change of fortune !
