2010 Boys Champion - Tom Robson

The sun shone for this years Boys Championship at Came Down and with a slightly better field of some 43 boys taking part the first round got under way early starter Robbie Mabb came in with a 2 over 72 to hold the club house lead for a short while until Jackson Bowes Yeovil came home in a level round of 70. Youngster Billy-Joe Bugden Broadstone had a 72. Last years runner up Harry Shaw found the morning tough and was 6 over and just one better was Harry Mitchell last years under 16 champion. Then towards the end came Tom Robson Weymouth who had a stunning 4 under 66 to take the advantage on the morning scores.

Billy-Joe Bugden County Boys Under 16 Champion. The cut came at 81 and twenty four players went out in the afternoon to contest the Championships. Robbie Mabb had another fine performance with a 71 giving him a 143 total and the club house lead all he could do was to wait and see how his club mate Tom faired in the afternoon. He could not emulate his morning performance but a fine 73 gave him a 1 under total of 139 and the championship making it a Weymouth 1 and 2. This was a tremendous performance from Tom who is in his last year as a junior. The Under 16 Championship was been keenly contested and the morning leader Billy-Joe found the afternoon a bit tougher but his 77 just managed to give him the title from the much improved James Dodds also Broadstone.
