Juniors v Hampshire v Sussex 01 September 2009 Ferndown GC

Result: Dorset 23 Hampshire 30 Sussex 37

The final match of the season saw the triangular against Hampshire (Donnelly Shield) and Sussex this year hosted by Dorset at Ferndown GC which as always was in excellent condition.  The morning consisted of a10 hole foursome competition followed by lunch and then eighteen hole singles.  Being on home soil we had hopes of regaining the Donnelly Shield from the grasp of Hampshire who have held it for the last three years but it was not to be as the strength and skill of both Sussex and Hampshire proved to be too much and home advantage was not enough.

Dorset v Wiltshire 10 August 2009 - Broadstone GC

Result: Dorset 8 Wiltshire 1

The morning started a little late due to some confusion over start times. Wiltshire also had the handicap of two missing players. We kindly lent them Tom Parsons and Harry Rickman with promises to play well for Wiltshire..........

Juniors v Crane Valley GC - 8 Mar 09

Starting with a strong wind and sunshine the day rapidly deteriorated into a series of squalls with cold biting wind and rain. Jordan Howlett came into the side replacing a sick James Higgins – thanks to him for standing in at the last minute.

The match was played as 4BBB with ¾ of the handicap difference as the allowance. The Crane Valley GC Hardy ‘A’ side made the most of it running out winners 4-1. Some excellent golf was played under the testing conditions.
