DCGA - Christmas Meeting 3 & 10 Dec 08

The first meeting got under way with an excellent field and with the over night rain gone it was a clear and sunny if not cold day.  The course played very well and even though a little wet the scoring was once more very good.  It is slightly embarrassing having been asked to partner Doug Pratt as his regular partner is down under on holiday we should play so well and eventually come out on top with 42 points.  My fingers are now crossed for the 10th in the hope the weather will be kind to us for that gathering.

The weather was dry but very frosty which meant this event went ahead on temp greens, that said the scoring seemed to be far higher than the first event with the leading pair Brian Hansford and Bryan Howe from Came Down amassing a fantastic 46 points with only 19 being recorded on the front nine!

Both days were a huge success and I thank all members for there sterling support throughout the year.  It just remains to say a huge thank your to the DG&CC for looking after us so well and providing us with a splendid Christmas lunch.  To you all may I wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year.

DCGA - Order of Merit 2008

The order of merit was decided at the Weymouth meeting with Paul Sheppherd Dudsbury needing a good round to secure top spot, sadly he could only manage sixth place and 1 point to his total.  Doug Pratt & John Gough Weymouth could not stop the OOM title once more going to John Farley from Dudsbury with Cliff Green and John Ruskin Crane Valley coming in joint second.  It as been very well contested this year lets hope this continues.

DCGA - 07 October 2008 Weymouth GC

In the worst conditions this year with heavy rain and strong blustery winds I take my hat off to all who attended and braved the weather to make the day, whats more the scoring proved to be good even in the rain, that said the late starters did finish off with the sun on their backs.
